"In Russia, I was always repelled by political parties because, in one way or another, they all collaborated with the ruling regime and often compromised their conscience.
Because of this, I always pursued my political activities independently, and I became a deputy as a self-nominated candidate with the support of close friends and activists from the public organization United Democrats. Often, the lack of party support prevented me from effectively addressing issues. It’s difficult without a team with shared convictions.
In Finland, things are different with political parties. Here, there is real resistance and lively debates, defending positions, and attempts to improve people’s lives. Without much hesitation, I decided to join the Green Party, whose ideology resonates with me the most. The fight for people's freedom to be themselves, environmental protection, the development of social services, support for children and the elderly, poverty reduction, quality education, economic reforms, improving business conditions, investment in innovation, and fair and humane immigration rules.
Joining the Green Party is an opportunity for me to interact more effectively with Finnish politicians, representing the interests of workers and forced migrants, raising awareness of European problems, and seeking constructive solutions. And, of course, for me, it is also an opportunity to unite with like-minded people and engage in my passion – ecology and saving the Arctic."
