Performance Endless Survival

Writer: Initiative FoReDiInitiative FoReDi

On December 22, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, activist Alex Nesterov will perform an act called Endless Survival in the center of Helsinki to draw public and government attention to the issue of long waiting times for interviews and subsequent decisions for asylum seekers from Russia.

For seven hours, Alex will sit on a chair, braving the weather, to metaphorically illustrate how asylum seekers face endless delays, indifference from those legally obligated to ensure their welfare, and restrictions on their civil rights.

Come and witness the performance, support Alex, and voice your protest against human rights violations.

📍We’ll meet in Helsinki at Kansalaistori Square near the Oodi Library.

If you haven’t yet signed the petition addressed to Finnish officials, calling on them to expedite the process of reviewing applications from Russian asylum seekers, investigate and address the causes of delays, and ensure that every applicant receives a decision on their case within a reasonable timeframe — now is the time to do so.
