Friends, the summer season is here, and that means it's time for a sea trip with an ecological purpose!

The Gulf of Finland and the Bothnian Sea are heavily polluted with floating debris and suffer from people’s careless behavior toward nature. Anyone who cares about our planet can help clean up the bays by joining an eco-trip in a kayak or boat.

You can join the eco-project for free in Helsinki, Espoo, and Oulu—choose your preferred location, date, and time. Once registered, you’ll receive detailed instructions. Equipment pickup and return are contactless. On-site, you'll get a two-person kayak or boat with special trash removal gear, cleaning tools, life jackets, and other equipment for three hours. After cleaning, don’t forget to weigh your collected trash, dispose of it in a bin, and neatly return the equipment.

🪿 If you get off on a shore or island during cleanup, please be mindful of the bird nesting season. Watch your step to avoid crushing eggs, and don’t feed or get too close to the birds.

⚠️ In strong winds, beginners should avoid going out on kayaks or boats. You must be able to swim, and bring spare clothing in case you lose balance. Don’t forget drinking water, a snack for a picnic, and sunscreen on sunny days.

Spend a summer day at sea benefiting both ecology and peace! 💙
