Political prisoners are isolated, with very limited contact with the outside world. Letters remind them that their struggle matters — that beyond the prison walls, there are people who remember, support, and respect them.
Participants will gather in a conference room with a large communal table. You’ll have three hours to write, so if you arrive late, no worries — you can join at any time.
Bring your Finnish- and English-speaking friends — the cards with stories of political prisoners will be available in three languages.
You’ll also have the opportunity to write a letter to artist Anastasia Dyudyaeva, whose exhibition will soon open in Helsinki.
The organizers have taken care of everything: paper, envelopes, drinks, and snacks will be provided.
📍We’ll be waiting for you at Karjasillan kirjasto (library), address: Leevi Madetojan katu 1, Oulu.
If a library card is requested at the entrance, call the organizer: Maksim Aliev, +358 40 4718292
Freedom to all political prisoners! 🕊
