Love is not extremism!

Writer: Initiative FoReDiInitiative FoReDi

On November 30, 2023, the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation declared the “LGBT+ movement” extremist, thus violating several fundamental human rights.

One year later, on November 30, from 12:00 to 13:00, a demonstration will be held in front of the Russian Embassy in Helsinki to support the Russian LGBTQ+ community. We aim to express our disagreement with this decision by Russian authorities and to stand in solidarity with those affected.

What to expect: This is a peaceful demonstration with posters and LGBT+ flags, which are banned in Russia. We will provide some signs, but please bring your own if you have any, as long as they contain no violent messages or personal insults. After the demonstration, we plan to gather in a warm, friendly atmosphere to support one another.

Dress warmly, as it may be chilly to stand in one place!

Everyone is welcome, regardless of nationality, religion, or identity. The organizers speak English, Russian, and Finnish. For any questions, please contact Victoria: victoria.tsvetkova@my-equal.org
