The letters were also sent to the foreign ministries of EU countries, requesting action to stop the import of Russian nickel ore by the company Norilsk Nickel to Finland and to raise the issue of imposing European Union sanctions against Norilsk Nickel and personally against Vladimir Potanin.

  • Free Russia Forum, founded by Garry Kasparov, office in Finland – Natalia Alexeeva, PhD in Physics and Mathematics, co-coordinator of the Free Russia Forum in Finland

  • Democratic Community of Southeastern Finland – Anastasia Khavanskaya, lawyer, political activist, member of the SDP Finland

Earlier, a protest was held at the Norilsk Nickel Harjavalta Oy plant in the Finnish town of Harjavalta, involving Finnish citizens, political activists, and refugees. The protesters carried signs with photos of the Russian attack on the Ohmatdyt children's hospital in Kyiv, Ukraine, along with text stating that Vladimir Potanin’s "Norilsk Nickel" supports this aggression. Activists also hung a sign indicating that "Norilsk Nickel" subsidizes the war.
