The organization Initiative FoReDi expresses its disagreement with the decisions made by the Finnish Immigration Service (Migri).
In addition to the threat of mobilization itself, Russians deported back to their homeland may face serious risks from law enforcement — both inside the country and at the border.Even a long absence from Russia may be enough to raise suspicion. Participation in anti-war demonstrations in Finland or expressing political opinions on social media can become additional risk factors. These actions can lead to interrogations, searches, and even criminal prosecution.
We have already sent official appeals to Migri, the Chancellor of Justice, and the Parliamentary Ombudsman — and we are still waiting for responses.
We wish strength, resilience, and a fair appeals process to all asylum seekers!
