Freedom for Andrey Gnyot!

Writer: Initiative FoReDiInitiative FoReDi

Andrey Gnyot, a Belarusian journalist, activist, and human rights defender, was detained in the Serbian capital of Belgrade in October 2023 following an Interpol notification after a request for his extradition to Belarus. After spending seven months in custody in Belgrade, he was placed under house arrest in June 2024. Andrey is currently awaiting the final decision on his extradition case in Serbia.

On Sunday, protests in support of Andrey Gnyot will take place around the world. These actions aim to draw the attention of European politicians to the situation and prevent the activist's extradition to Belarus, where he faces prison and torture at the hands of the criminal Lukashenko regime.

On August 25 at 2:00 PM in Helsinki, the Democratic Community of Russian Speakers in Finland invites all concerned individuals to a protest in support of Andrey outside the Serbian Embassy.

📍 We’ll meet at: Kulosaarentie 36.

Let’s support Andrey Gnyot and his fight for freedom!

Listen to Andrey's interview in the "Echo of Helsinki" broadcast.
