From June 7 to 9, a meeting of the members of the Finland–Russia Society (Suomi–Venäjä-seura) took place in the city of Lahti.
The meeting was dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the society, and the theme of the discussion was "Current Russia."
The society reviewed interim results and discussed future plans, including attracting new young members, building relationships between the Finnish-speaking and Russian-speaking communities in Finland, and engaging with Russian-speaking residents who arrived after the full-scale war began.
A representative of our organization, Initiative FoReDi, Valery Klepkin, gave a presentation in which he spoke about the work of our organization, what we have accomplished in the few months since its establishment, and our desire to build dialogue with the people of Finland to explain why the voice of civil society in Russia is barely heard.
